We love the culture that Dario and Amy Schicke bring to the Dundee neighborhood. The couple’s two celebrated restaurants, the award-winning Dario’s Brasserie and the Italian-inspired Avoli Osteria, continually gather people (and press) from Omaha and beyond to enjoy authentic food and drink. Dario and Amy share a gift for bringing communities together. And we couldn’t be happier to be their community bank.
Before they put down roots in Dundee, Dario and Amy Schicke met in Germany where they married, later living in New York. Dario—who grew up in Sarajevo and is classically trained in French cuisine—carries a passion for his craft that’s only matched by his wife’s acumen for business and helping others. Together they founded and own two restaurants: Dario’s Brasserie, an informal French café serving beers, wine and simple hearty food, and Avoli Osteria, offering an authentic Northern Italian dining experience.
The couple’s endeavors have garnered acclaim from Esquire Magazine, Omaha World-Herald and others, as well as Dario being named a 2010 James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef: Midwest. They currently have two daughters and live in Omaha.
